“Our experience with Shelden Custom Homes was exceptional. The attention to detail that the team showed throughout the entire project from start to finish exceed our wildest expectations. They worked as a seamless team with our architect calling him whenever a question arose or changes needed to be made to the original plans. I never had to worry that corners were being cut. On the contrary he made sure every detail of the project was perfect. An example of this was when the tile I had ordered came in slightly different than expected. Instead of just laying it as originally drawn out in the plans, they called me to suggest a different configuration based on their real time knowledge and expertise. This is just one example that exemplifies both their remarkable communication skills and building experience that were displayed from start to finish on our job. I was two time zones away from the job site, and was always confident that all details were being executed at the highest level. Shelden Custom Homes created the mountain house of my dreams on schedule and stress free. I would highly recommend them to anyone building a home for a phenomenal overall experience.”

Single-Family Home in the Highlands at Breckenridge

Remodeled our entire home in Breckenridge with Sheldon Custom Homes. I do a lot of construction projects, both restaurants and home remodels, and have never worked with such a professional, flexible, engaging, accommodating and collaborative person as Taylor. Came highly recommended and so glad we chose them for this project. The quality of subcontractors, communication and scheduling was as good as any I have seen in the industry. Would only consider using Sheldon Custom Homes if I was to do future projects in Summit County. Cannot say enough good things about SCH and Taylor in particular. Feel free to reach out to me personally if you have any questions or are considering using Sheldon Custom Homes for your next project. Taylor has my number.

Single-Family Home in the Highlands at Breckenridge

“We had a fantastic experience on a complex remodel project with Shelden Custom Homes.  After an extensive search and interview process with numerous contractors, we hired Shelden Custom Homes for the complete, top-to-bottom remodel of our 4-bedroom, three-story 1990s townhome. Updating an older space comes with unexpected challenges, especially when walls and plumbing are moved along with significant electrical upgrades, but Taylor and his team handled everything with absolute professionalism. They modernized the entire layout, upgraded the dated infrastructure, and delivered high-quality craftsmanship in every room. The attention to detail and final finishes are excellent.  Communication was clear throughout the project, and they stayed on schedule while navigating supply challenges not of their making. They respected our HOA’s rules, kept the site clean, and delivered exactly what they promised.  If you need a reliable contractor for a major renovation or new build, we highly recommend Taylor Shelden and Shelden Custom Homes.

Breckenridge Remodel

When we decided to do a major home remodel, we had the great fortune of learning about Taylor Shelden from a neighbor - and we couldn’t be happier!

Taylor is knowledgeable and experienced, having grown up in the building trades, but he also possesses a rare skill in today’s world - the ability to listen. He paid close attention to our vision and gave valuable suggestions when we requested his input. He is an excellent communicator.

Perhaps the best reflection of his reputation is the enthusiasm with which all of his sub contractors speak of him.

We are delighted with Taylor’s work and recommend him without hesitation.

Breckenridge Remodel

“I have had the pleasure of working with Shelden Custom Homes since 2007 as a subcontractor. I have seen many beautiful homes being built from the ground to ridgeline. Kevin and Taylor were always available and worked hard to keep everyone on schedule. Communication with subcontractors works out so well that most of them have continued to work with Shelden Construction over the years. This teamwork of experienced people provides a beautiful and well-built home. Of course, when we decided to remodel our home, Kevin and Taylor were the first pick by far. It soon became clear to us that we had made the right decision. As a homeowner and first time “remodeler” we had no idea what was involved in the process. There were decisions to be made, and changes occurred along the way.  However, we were guided through every step and the final product is amazing. I would absolutely recommend the Shelden Team. The timing, workmanship, quality and attention to detail is exceptional.”

“Shelden Custom Homes has just completed a beautiful new home for us in Breckenridge. Despite a difficult building site with limited room for excavation, Kevin & Taylor executed a wonderful floor plan on three and a half levels on time and in budget. Working with Shelden Custom Homes, and their subcontractors of long-standing, was a pleasure. Their innovative ideas, often proposed on site, helped to create a unique and extremely attractive new home. The team approached each aspect of the house with excellent preparation and forethought, resulting in smooth sailing from start to completion. We would certainly use Shelden Custom Homes again, and we have and would strongly, recommend them to anyone else who wishes to build here.”

“I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you most sincerely for building my new home in Bill’s Ranch in Frisco. I chose you for my builder based on my past experience with you as a homeowner at the Aspens at Eagles Nest. I was, and am still impressed with your conscientious approach to the entire process and especially to the way you stood behind your product…. This home has surpassed my fondest wishes. And to think you even finished it one entire month ahead of schedule!… I talked with many of your subcontractors and they were unanimous in their praise for you…..”
